Sonic Dash turned the endless runner into a reflex test: three lanes, a wall of obstacles, and a speed that only goes up. The install is small but the game still wants an account, ads between runs, and a currency store bolted on top. We wanted the swipe-jump-slide reflex loop without any of that, so we built Trailfox, a small original 3D runner you can play right now, free, with nothing to install.

How to play
Swipe left or right on the canyon to switch lanes, swipe up to jump, swipe down to slide. On a phone you can also tap the round buttons in the corners instead of swiping. On a keyboard, use the arrow keys or A/D to change lanes, W or Space to jump, and S to slide. Any tap or key press starts the run.
Every obstacle needs the right move: jump the low barriers, slide under the overhead bars, and switch lanes around the solid red blocks. Sparks scattered along the canyon build a buffer that absorbs one hit, so a crash only ends the run once you’re holding zero sparks. Speed climbs the longer you survive. Your best score and daily streak are saved on your device only. Nothing leaves your browser.
How it compares to Sonic Dash
Trailfox keeps the part of Sonic Dash we actually load the game for: three lanes, a fast chase camera locked behind the runner, and the split-second decision between jumping, sliding, or dodging sideways. The canyon track and the fox character are ours, rendered with a raw WebGL camera and lighting setup rather than 2D sprites, but the timing pressure is the same rhythm.
Everything else is deliberately gone. There’s no character roster to unlock, no red-star currency, no power-up shop, no daily-challenge event calendar, and no ads between attempts. Sonic Dash is a full mobile game with years of seasonal content and a store built around it; Trailfox is a two-minute browser toy with nothing to buy, because we’re not willing to build a spend loop into something meant to load instantly.
Use Trailfox for a quick run between other things, on a shared or work computer where installing a game isn’t an option, or as a taste of the lane-switching reflex before you decide whether to download the real thing.

Is this the real Sonic Dash?

Does Trailfox have a character roster or in-app purchases?
No. There’s one runner, no unlockables to buy, and nothing behind a paywall. The daily canyon theme and streak counter exist to give you a reason to come back, not to sell you anything.

Yes. Once the page has loaded, the game makes no network requests at all. Your best score, streak, and sound preference are stored on your device with localStorage, so they survive a reload and never get sent anywhere.
