How to use it
Choose one of seven languages (Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Japanese, or Mandarin Chinese) and one of ten travel categories, from greetings and directions to emergencies and small talk. The list of phrases updates the moment you change either setting, and each entry comes with a simple pronunciation hint so you can say it out loud without needing audio. Tap the star on any phrase to save it to your favorites.
Switch to Quiz me and it builds a short round from whichever language and category you had selected, prioritizing phrases you have marked as still learning. Tap the card to reveal the answer, then mark it “Know it” or “Still learning.” Your mastery percentage and daily streak are saved on your device, nothing leaves your browser, so they are waiting for you next time you open the page.
How it compares to Google Translate
We want to be direct about what this is and is not. This is not a translation engine. It cannot translate a sentence you type, and it cannot handle a menu you photograph or a conversation you speak into your phone, which is exactly what Google Translate is built for and does well.
